Importance Perception, Self-confidence and Working Hours of Job Duties between Integrated and General Units Nurses

Abstract

|
Purpose: This study was to analyze and compare importance perception and self-confidence of duties and working hours between integrated and general units nurses.
Methods: Subjects were total 220 that 115 nurses worked in integrated units and 105 nurses of general units in D city and G province. Data were collected by self-reported questionnaire and analyzed through SPSS/WIN 21.0 program with percentage, frequency and X2-test, Fisher exact test, t-test.
Results: Importance perception of duties was not different between integrated and general units. Self confidence of duties on integrated units was higher than general units. Working hours of integrated units were shorter than general units. Direct care working hours of integrated units and general unit were longer than these of indirect care.
Conclusion: Job of integrated units nurses was different with general units. In order to increase direct care time in integrated unit, periodical analysis of job performance for patients and implementation of countermeasures should be considered with job burden and strength.
